Teacher of English
The Community College Bishop's Castle
The College is looking to appoint a short-term contract Teacher of English to join our successful English subject team initially for one term but could be extended. The ideal candidate will be an effective and innovative teacher, capable of inspiring students of all abilities, and able to teach key stage 3 and key stage 4. The ability to also offer Media Studies would be ideal. This is an exciting opportunity and would be suitable for an experienced teacher or an outstanding NQT who wants to work in a school focused on ensuring that all students achieve or exceed their potential. The post could also work as a job share with appropriate candidates.
In 2025 our overall Attainment 8 score was 4.4. Students studying English Language achieved 60% grade 4 and above; English Literature achieved 53% grade 4 or above; Media Studies achieved 51% grade 4 and above. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to have a significant impact on the structure and delivery of the English curriculum at The Community College.
