What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the project team with cost queries and gaining back-up/validation to costs
  • Supporting the finance and commercial functions by ensuring correct cost allocation and running of weekly cost reports
  • Variance analysis of actual v forecast costs
  • Monitor and tracking of costs
  • Plus any other tasks to assist the Senior Finance Manager or project staff
  • Interfaces with: Senior Finance Manager, Site Project Team, HR and BB Newcastle and wider finance teams
  • Liaising with External: Suppliers and Contractors
  • Working with clients stakeholders to facilitate audits monthly/quarterly provide samples of costs to enable audits and validation
  • Support the Finance Manager and Commercial Lead in any ad-hoc analysis
  • Flexible position – may be project based or office based but site travel would be required

Who we're looking for

  • Highly motivated, proactive and practical individual
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within set timescales
  • Thrives in a busy environment and enjoys a challenge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised and able to work on own initiative
  • Review and prioritise tasks with accuracy
  • High levels of IT literacy, preferably used Oracle R12 accounts system but not essential
  • Full driving licence
  • Gain understanding of Oracle R12 CVR (link between commercial project reporting and financial project reporting)
