Salary: £30,000 per annum

In this role you will learn all about product development and management, playing an integral part in ensuring the Society’s mortgage product ranges meet the needs of our customers and deliver good customer outcomes, whilst also delivering key business objectives such as achieving the annual lending plan and launching new products and propositions.

You will work with colleagues across the business and will have the opportunity to present to senior leadership.

What the role will look like

  • Monitor and analyse performance of mortgage products and propositions against agreed targets, tailoring how information is presented so that it is suitable for different audiences.
  • Research, track and analyse competitor activity and provide up to date market insights to support product pricing decisions and proposition development.
  • Take responsibility for developing mortgage pricing proposals that deliver commercial success and support the Society’s customers.
  • Use Power BI and a range of Excel-based financial models to support your decision making and recommendations. Take responsibility for developing analytical tools to drive better data-based decisions.
  • Identify and manage risks (financial, conduct and operational) within the product range and ensure compliance with regulation and internal processes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support the planning and development of the Society’s mortgage strategy and the delivery of change that is key to the strategy (propositions, criteria, customer enhancements).
  • Ensure good customer outcomes are delivered by putting the customer at the heart of everything you do.
  • Present your proposals to Product Consideration Group (PCG) and take minutes of this and other Committees, as required.
  • Become a Product expert, sharing knowledge and providing support and guidance to colleagues across the business.

What you will bring to the role

  • Analytically minded, good with numbers and the ability to use logic to solve problems. Use your commercial mindset to identify and bring to life opportunities.
  • Good working knowledge/practical skills of Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel to manipulate data using a range of formulas and PowerPoint to create engaging presentations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to tailor your style to be appropriate for difference audiences.
  • Strategic mindset, able to think about the bigger picture and identify opportunities.
  • An understanding of mortgage products and the mortgage industry (desirable, not essential).
