Are you looking to launch your career in IT and data administration while gaining a fully funded qualification? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Service Desk Administrator to join our dynamic MIS team at Inspire Education Group.
This is an exciting opportunity to support our commitment to continuous improvement by developing a high-functioning service desk. Working simultaneously towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard (Digital Support Technician) , you will act as the first line of support for all stakeholders, undertaking a variety of data administration tasks with a high level of accuracy and providing excellent customer service.
About the Role
As an Apprentice Service Desk Administrator, you will:
- Respond promptly, courteously, and efficiently to a variety of service desk requests related to MIS functions, resolving initial queries and escalating complex issues.
- Assist in maintaining the MIS service desk to ensure operational stability and support the team in implementing user-friendly workflow solutions.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in service desk technology and customer service best practices.
- Review service desk data and user feedback to identify opportunities to make the service desk experience more efficient and accessible.
- Support the development, maintenance, and generation of available service desk reports to help track current queries and bottlenecks.
- Work collaboratively with the wider MIS department to develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base featuring clear tutorials and troubleshooting guides.
- Actively participate in the college enrolment process, working closely with Student Services teams to input data accurately at peak times.
- Provide administrative and operational support to other teams within the MIS department during key cycles and periods of high demand.
- Dedicate 20% of your paid working hours to off-the-job training, coursework, and study to successfully achieve your Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
You will work closely with the rest of the department, Team Leaders, and the Group Director to deliver effective technical and administrative solutions across the college group.
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual with:
- Minimum of Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths Grade C/4 or above) or other Level 2 equivalent qualifications.
- An ECDL/ITQ or alternative relevant IT Level 2 qualification, alongside strong IT skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- The willingness, aptitude, and capability to successfully complete the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard framework and its associated End Point Assessment (EPA).
- Complete compliance with the statutory UK government eligibility criteria to undertake a funded apprenticeship (including residency requirements and not being enrolled in other full-time education).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and data entry skills, with a proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a busy team.
- A highly organized and flexible approach to working practices, with the ability to handle confidential data with strict discretion.
- An awareness of and commitment to safeguarding, equality of opportunity, and the core values of IEG.
- A strong understanding of service desk best practices or previous experience in an FE environment (Desirable).
