PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,600 – £27,400 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join the BBC Northern Ireland Media team as an Assistant Media Scheduler, supporting the planning, scheduling and performance management of digital inventory across iPlayer, web and social channels. In this 6‑month role, you’ll play a key part in delivering impactful promotional activity that helps BBC NI content reach and engage audiences across the region.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary Media team working at the heart of BBC Northern Ireland’s promotional activity. This role offers the chance to develop hands‑on experience across digital and social platforms, contribute to high‑profile campaigns, and build strong relationships with colleagues across NI, Scotland, Wales and network teams.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Support the planning, scheduling and management of digital inventory across iPlayer, web and social channels.
- Manage and schedule activity across organic and paid social media channels.
- Provide resilience support for linear inventory when required.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Creative teams across NI, Scotland, Wales and network Media teams.
- Monitor performance, analyse data and contribute insights to optimise campaign effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience working with data, ideally within media, broadcasting or communications.
- Understanding of media planning and scheduling processes, with familiarity across inventory types.
- Passion for audiences in Northern Ireland and awareness of BBC priorities.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, build strong relationships and manage multiple priorities.
- Confident decision making under pressure, with adaptability to fast changing broadcast environments.
DESIRABLE
- Experience maintaining efficient operational processes and driving new ideas independently.
- High levels of computer literacy, including strong spreadsheet skills.
- Knowledge of digital and social media platforms and their role in audience engagement.
- Understanding of broadcast ecosystems and promotional workflows.
- Interest in industry trends and developments within media and broadcasting.
