Health Care Assistant (HCA)

About The Role

Severn Angels Healthcare is currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support NHS hospitals and care settings across multiple locations. This is a flexible agency role, offering you the opportunity to choose shifts that suit your availability while gaining experience across a range of healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting
• Assisting with mobility and safe moving & handling
• Monitoring and recording patient observations (e.g. temperature, pulse, respiration)
• Supporting patients with eating and drinking
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Maintaining a clean and safe care environment
• Working alongside nurses and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care
• Following care plans and reporting any concerns to senior staff

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months UK healthcare experience (NHS or care home setting preferred)
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A compassionate, patient-focused approach
