Management Accountant

Spencer Richardson are proudly supporting a fast‑moving, well‑structured organisation in seeking a detail‑focused Management Accountant to strengthen financial reporting, enhance control, and support ongoing process improvement across the finance function.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will take ownership of monthly management accounts, ensure balance sheet integrity, support audit and statutory requirements, and oversee key operational finance processes including payroll and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monthly management accounts - full ownership of preparation, analysis, and variance commentary
• Balance sheet control - reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, and integrity of financial data
• Cash reporting - timely and accurate cashflow insights to support decision‑making
• Audit support - preparation of schedules, responses, and statutory reporting under UK GAAP / FRS 102
• Ensure transaction accuracy, integrity and control with a view to day-to-day reporting not being compromised through a focus on the detail
• Budgeting and forecasting - involvement in planning cycles and KPI reporting
• Process improvement - identifying opportunities to streamline, automate, and strengthen controls
• Team development - coaching and supporting junior members of the finance team

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP / FRS 102)
• Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working at pace with a process‑driven mindset
• Confident operating across both operational and reporting‑focused areas
