What do we do?

At Beta Best Produce we are the European sales office for a large grower of fresh produce in Peru. Beta Peru farm over 5,000 hectares of land to produce blueberries, grapes, pomegranates, avocados and asparagus for export to global markets. Our mission is to sell Beta’s produce deeper into the European market, importing, repacking and delivering directly into retailers and developing sales channels in new markets.

Why are we recruiting?

Due to business expansion and an expected upcoming busy season, we are recruiting for a Logistics and Admin Support Assistant to join our small, friendly team in Basingstoke, on a fixed term 6-month contract on a part time basis.

What you will be doing as a Logistics and Admin Support Assistant?

· You will report to the Logistics Manager, supporting him in the daily tasks of the logistics department.

· You will monitor and track all shipments of fresh produce that we receive from our parent company in Peru and other suppliers for import into Europe.

· You will coordinate import procedures with freight forwarders for the smooth clearance of shipments into European markets and liaise with transport companies and warehouses for the safe onward transfer of goods.

· You will be checking and approving all paperwork associated with the import of fresh produce, including invoicing, shipping documents and phytosanitary certificates.

· You will be responsible for accurately inputting the details of every shipment into our ERP system, recording and updating stock including pack types, sizes, pricing and supplier invoicing in support of the commercial team.

· You will use your excellent customer service skills to make sure the business maintains good customer and supplier relations.

Who are we looking for?

· Ideally you will have worked in a logistics, stock control and/or international trade field.

· You will have a high attention to detail in your work and be able to spot and highlight numerical and clerical errors.

· You will be commercially aware and confident in dealing with third party suppliers and not afraid to be persistent where necessary.

· You will be comfortable reacting quickly under time pressures that are unique to the fresh produce industry and have the desire and ability to take on new responsibilities and embrace new challenges.

· You will be used to making decisions independently and using your own initiative to ensure that problems are resolved as they occur.

· A competent user of Microsoft packages and with good numerical and literacy skills.

· You will have the right to work in the UK.
