Auto Mower Technician

We are looking to expand our team due to business requirements; therefore, we are looking for a Automower Technician (or Trainee) to join the existing team at our Esher branch, based in Surrey.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation of Automowers, along with the servicing, fault diagnosis and repair of robotic lawnmowers (Automowers) and associated equipment. You will be required to have good computer skills due to the new technologies incorporated in these products along with general mechanical skills. This role is designed for someone looking to develop a long-term technical career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of Automowers, boundary wires and guide wires at customer sites
  • Learn to commission machines, including software setup and testing
  • Ensure installations meet manufacturer and company standards
  • Carry out routine servicing and seasonal maintenance under supervision
  • Assist with diagnosing faults including electrical, mechanical and software-related issues
  • Replace parts and complete repairs accurately and efficiently
  • Provide a professional and friendly service to customers on-site
  • Explain basic operation and maintenance of Automowers to customers
  • Support aftersales queries and minor troubleshooting
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
  • Accurately complete job cards, service reports and warranty documentation
  • Follow health & safety guidelines at all times
  • Mix of workshop-based and on-site work
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Attend internal and manufacturer-led training courses
  • Develop technical knowledge of Automower products and accessories

Essential

Skills & Attributes

  • Interest in machinery, electronics or engineering
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Polite, professional manner with customers
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Previous experience in groundcare, machinery, electrics or mechanical repair
  • Basic IT or software familiarity
  • Start Date: Immediate but subject to successful candidates notice period
  • Hours: 40 hours per week – 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday (1 hour unpaid lunch)
