Location: Trowbridge (Wiltshire), Bath and Midsomer Norton (BANES)
Hours: 37.5 hours
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Pay: £22,000 - £26,000 (based on experience)
At Bath Rugby Foundation, we’re passionate about changing the lives of vulnerable young people. We engage those at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment, or training) and help them build the skills and confidence to thrive.
As a Mentor, you will work directly with vulnerable young people at risk of exclusion from school. You will have low judgement, impactful conversations, to help guide these individuals back into education. Day to day, you will help plan student specific timetables, organise and deliver enrichment sessions and lead 1:1 mentoring.
Focuses on the safe and effective delivery of sessions at our hubs. The successful candidate will lead the PSHE, sports, and social curriculum, whilst supporting their manager with student attendance, behaviour, and overall development.
Qualifications
Essential
•Up-to-date safeguarding and first aid certificates (or immediate willingness to update).
•Coaching qualification (e.g. NGB Level 2) and/or qualifications relevant to youth work and mentoring
Experience
Essential
•Proven experience delivering high-quality, inclusive sessions that are tailored to students' needs, encompassing PHSE, curriculum, and multiple sports.
•Experience in planning sessions, developing schemes of work, and creating associated risk assessments.
•Ability to accurately record student attendance, supporting data collection, and maintaining session equipment.

•Ability to act as a credible ambassador, delivering a positive representation of the Foundation within the wider community.
•Willingness to travel and deliver across hub locations
•Commitment to continuous development, including participating in regular one-to-one meetings with their Manager, and upholding the Foundation's core values.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
•Thorough understanding of how to ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies are always followed.
•Excellent interpersonal skills to lead the development of positive relationships with all students and local schools.
•GCSE in Maths and English and being comfortable supporting our young people with reading, writing, and understanding questions.
