Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and commercially focused Head of Finance UK to join our UK leadership team. This is a senior-level position reporting to the Director of Commercial Finance, BU Europe, and acting as a true business partner to the UK Managing Director and Commercial Leadership Team.
You’ll be responsible for strengthening the financial performance of our UK operations through sharp commercial insight, strategic leadership, and end-to-end finance ownership — from partnering to compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering & FP&A
Partner with Sales, Marketing & Key Accounts to support pricing, promotions, and customer profitability
Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and monthly performance reporting
Cost & Cash Management
Drive Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) improvement initiatives and oversee receivables
Ensure accurate tracking of costs and enable ROI-driven decisions
Collaborate with central finance on margin optimization and innovation costing
Statutory, Tax & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Dutch and UK GAAP
Oversee corporate, transfer pricing, and environmental tax requirements
Lead internal and external audits and monitor compliance with policies and controls
Maintain an up-to-date Delegation of Authority (Terms of Reference)
Financial Operations Oversight
Coordinate with Shared Services Centre (SSC) on R2R, P2P, and VAT processes
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and reporting
Leadership
Lead, develop, and empower a high-performing local finance team
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
Build strong relationships with local and global stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
You have experience in:
Commercial finance within an FMCG or consumer goods environment
Financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
Strategic business partnering that drives decision-making
Navigating UK financial compliance and regulatory requirements
Working in matrixed teams and across shared service structures
UK retail dynamics — particularly grocery and discounter channels
ERP and financial systems (preferably SAP/SAP S4), trade spend systems (BluePlanner), reporting tools (Teetic/Hyperion/PBCS), and advanced Excel/Power BI skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
Professional financial qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
MBA or MSc is a plus
