Job Description

At Wavenet, we’re not just keeping businesses connected—we’re transforming how they operate through smart, scalable tech. As one of the UK’s leading technology solutions providers, we help thousands of customers stay ahead of the curve with reliable, secure, and future-ready IT.

We're now looking for a 3rd Line Cloud Senior Engineer who’s passionate about solving real problems, loves to dig into the root of technical issues, and thrives on making a difference in how businesses work every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is more than just a support role, you’ll be the go-to expert when the tough problems arise. You’ll own escalated incidents from our frontline teams, bring issues to resolution quickly and confidently, and help make sure our customers experience world-class service every step of the way.

You’ll also work closely with engineers across the business to drive improvements, create knowledge content, and guide others with your expertise in Microsoft and Cloud tech.

Your Day-to-Day Might Include:

  • Taking charge of complex technical issues escalated from Tier 2, ensuring fast and effective resolution.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to our customers and internal teams—sometimes even leading training sessions or technical deep-dives.
  • Investigating recurring faults and driving root cause analysis—you don’t just fix it, you stop it from happening again.
  • Working with our Service Desk and Ops teams to create solutions that scale, not just patch problems.
  • Leading incident response across multiple tech teams when critical issues hit.
  • Keeping us ahead of the curve—staying updated on Microsoft and cloud innovations and sharing your knowledge with the wider team.
  • Contributing to our Continual Service Improvement (CSI) efforts by documenting best practices and improving our service delivery.

Qualifications

What Makes You a Great Fit

You're more than just technically skilled — you're a collaborative problem-solver with a passion for delivering top-tier service. You stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and thrive in fast-paced environments where you can make a real difference.

We’re looking for someone who brings a solid technical foundation, a customer-first mindset, and a drive to keep improving.

You’ll Excel in This Role If You:

  • Have 3–4 years’ experience in a 3rd Line or Cloud/Infrastructure Support role, ideally within a Managed Service Provider.
  • Know your way around Microsoft 365, Azure (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), Windows Server (2008–2019), and Exchange.
  • Confidently manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and understand core networking principles.
  • Use PowerShell to simplify and automate tasks.
  • Have experience with VMware or Hyper-V, and tools like FSLogix, DFS, and remote support platforms.
  • Understand incident, problem, and change management, and how to restore service fast while digging into root causes.
  • Communicate complex ideas simply, and contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation.
  • Know your way around SLAs, OLAs, KPIs, and the ITIL framework.
  • Bonus if you’ve worked with Citrix, SCCM, Intune, or backup tools like Veeam.
