The Mikaere Foundation is looking for a new hands-on trustee to expand the skills within its board. Help guide strategy, governance and growth.
What difference will you make?
When one in three children born with NKH aren't likely to see their first birthday, you will be helping to bring about change. It will be because of the work you do, that one day, we'll be able give children with NKH a future.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with strategy and/or finance/investment experience - whether in a professional, voluntary, or community setting - who is confident supporting and guiding others. You don’t need to have been a trustee before or worked in the charity sector. A strategic thinker who can help guide decision-making A collaborative team player who encourages open discussion Organised and proactive, with a willingness to get involved Passionate about supporting children, families, and community Skills in finance/investment, strategy, fundraising, or recruiting volunteers would be especially welcome, but we value a wide range of experiences and backgrounds.
What will you be doing?
At the Mikaere Foundation, we support children and families with Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH), a rare and terminal metabolic disorder. We're a small charity looking to grow.At the Mikaere Foundation, we Support to children and families who live with NKH across the UK, by providing patient information and resources Raise awareness of research to aid diagnosis and treatment of patients with NKH Work with the NHS and other bodies to ensure patients have access to diagnostic services and on-going care Provide opportunities for connection and patient community Fund research into effective treatments for NKH with our research partners Fundraise to support the above activities Find out more about NKH and our charity at www.mikaerefoundation.org The Mikaere Foundation is looking for new trustees to expand the skills within its board, to help guide strategy, governance and growth. The role can be carried out remotely, and we welcome applications from people across the UK.This is a voluntary unpaid role with any reasonable expenses paid.
