Do you want to be part of an established, warm, welcoming maternity team? We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join Glan Clwyd on Delivery Suite.

The ward has a motivated and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team with a clear vision of providing the best possible evidence based care to Women who access our services. Your role will be to work alongside them as Housekeeper and will be integral to the running of Delivery Suite.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an integral part of the Maternity Team. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities / services and for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

The main element of the role is to support the Clinical Lead in the running of the unit, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs, as determined by the Clinical Lead, Deputy Ward Manager or Shift Coordinator.

The post holder will be required to work closely with contractors and support services departments. The post holder will monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies in liaison with the Clinical Lead.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Educated to GCSE standard (grades A-C) or equivalent
  • Working towards NVQ Level 3 in related subject. (to be achieved within 1 year of appointment) or equivalent level of experience.

Desirable criteria

  • Basic food hygiene certificate.
  • Guidance Score Qualification in related subjects or working towards e.g. intermediate food hygiene certificate

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of planning and organising daily activities across a variety of disciplines.
  • Experience of a busy ward environment.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of undertaking a house keeper role
  • Experience of working for a NHS organisation
  • Experience of working with a variety of professional groups.

Skills

Essential criteria

  • Good command of the English language – written and spoken
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
