We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Pricing & Underwriting team on a permanent basis, as a Motor Pricing Practitioner within our Control & Incident Management team. The role is to provide support to evidence that we are in control, and when the unexpected does occur that we can resolve this quickly and efficiently.

What you'll be doing:

You will be part of a wider Retail Pricing department, proving support within the Control & Incident Management team – key responsibilities including:

  • Evidencing that we are operating within all legislation, regulation and a strong internal governance and control framework. This will be a combination of monitoring, conducting regular reviews and providing recommendations.

  • Consideration of how we can continuously improve our control processes, also ensuring efficiency and consistency with other products. Act as a role model for effective controls and governance at all times.

  • Presentation of findings to senior business leadership on compliance and control outcomes.

  • Triage, investigation and resolution of pricing issues, queries and complaints, including liaising the with other Pricing, Operations and technical teams such that any fixes may be prioritised and delivered efficiently. This will involve both technical investigation within the rating model and also data investigations to understand the impacted population.

Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach. When you'll be in the office depends on your role and team, but colleagues spend at least 2 days a week in the office

What you'll need:

We are keen to meet enthusiastic, passionate and curious individuals, and are open to hear from those with pricing, underwriting and pricing implementation backgrounds. We are also looking for the following skills:

  • Strong understanding of the components of a pricing algorithms and application of underwriting rules, ideally with experience of managing changes to these algorithms

  • Understanding of key legislation and regulation applying to motor insurance and how this impacts pricing algorithms, models, customer premiums and experience.

  • Strong problem solving and investigation skills

  • Ability to communicate complex information in a simple way

  • Ideally experience of Radar, or alternative pricing software

  • Ideally experience of data manipulation using languages, such as SQL or Python.
