Job Description

At Wincanton, we believe in the power of people. Our programme is designed to not only equip you with essential HR knowledge, but also to nurture your leadership potential, your communication skills, and your drive to innovate. From day one, you’ll play a vital role in supporting colleagues, solving challenges, and helping shape our inclusive workplace culture. Apply now and start building a career that helps others do their best work—because the future of HR needs passionate changemakers like you.

In our program, you will experience structured placements giving you the opportunity to gain experience across different teams and develop a broad range of skills to support your learning.

The Programme

Your journey starts with Level 3—and grows with you.

Wincanton’s HR Apprenticeship Programme begins with the CIPD Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship, where you’ll build a strong foundation in people practice. Through modules like Business Culture, HR Analytics, and Change in Context, you’ll gain practical skills in employee relations, recruitment, and policy development—all while applying your learning directly to workplace projects. With expert coaching and access to high-quality resources, you’ll develop the confidence to handle real HR challenges from day one.

Progress to Level 5 and become a strategic HR professional.

Once you’ve completed Level 3, you’ll be ready to advance to the CIPD Level 5 People Professional Apprenticeship—a pathway designed to deepen your expertise and prepare you for more senior roles. This next stage focuses on strategic HR planning, organisational development, and specialist areas like talent management and employee experience. You’ll explore how to align HR initiatives with business goals, lead change, and influence culture across the organisation. It’s a progression that transforms you from a capable HR support practitioner into a confident, forward-thinking people professional.
