Could you work as part of a multi-disciplinary team committed to improving the health of people affected by cancer across Tayside?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Dietitian to join our dynamic and friendly integrated adult hospital team based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The post holder will work as part of a team delivering front line, dietetic clinical care to Surgical patients. There will also be opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of hospital settings as part of a hospital wide integrated team, contributing to service improvement and pathway development.
This post would ideally suit an experienced band 6 dietitian or an experienced band 5 dietitian ready to progress in a hospital setting. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary colleagues from other disciplines throughout the hospital, taking a proactive approach to the clinical care of patients, education, implementing standards of best practice and demonstrating leadership around evidence-based nutritional interventions. They will also be responsible for the supervision of band 5 rotational dietitians and dietetic support workers. Excellent team working and communication skills are therefore essential in this role, as is the ability to work independently.
Excellent working relationships exist with dietetic colleagues throughout NHS Tayside via the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service and the Tayside Nutrition Network to develop and implement evidence-based practice, receive peer support, and help to progress Continuous Professional Development. There is also a commitment to training of dietetic students, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
Excellent inter-personal and communications skills and the ability to demonstrate good team working as well as being able to work autonomously are required.
