Welcome to the Children’s Nursing Team at MKUH.

We have various opportunities for Registered Children’s Nurses and Nursing Associates to join our established team.

Ward 5 (Acute Paediatric Inpatients)

Ward 5 is our 22 bedded acute paediatric inpatient ward caring for acutely unwell babies, children and young people up to the age of 16 years. We provide inpatient care for children and families under a range of specialities.

Neonatal Unit

NNU at MKUH is a Level 2 Unit with 17 cots. We care for babies born from 27 weeks gestation requiring intensive, high dependency or special care.

Ward 4 (Paediatric Assessment Unit)

Ward 4 is our 24/7 paediatric assessment unit caring for babies, children and young people up to age of 16 years. The unit provides same day assessment, treatment and observation of children with the aim of optimising care and preventing admission to hospital.

Planned Care

Planned care encompasses paediatric day surgery, day care, outpatient and community services. We care for babies, children and young people up to the age of 16 years, outside of the inpatient acute setting, minimising length of stay and reducing the impact of chronic health conditions.

Services for babies, children and young people at Milton Keynes Hospital are growing, reflected in the MK New Hospital Programme - MK View.
