Are you a highly organised and motivated events professional with a passion for delivering impactful, high-profile events? We’re looking for an Events Officer to join our team and lead the planning and delivery of a wide range of events across the University.

About the Role

As Events Officer, you will take ownership of the planning, coordination, and delivery of events to a high professional standard. Working closely with the Communications Officer and other key stakeholders, you will ensure that each event is insight-led, well-organised, and delivers real value for our audiences.

You will oversee all aspects of the event lifecycle—from initial planning and logistics, to budgeting, production of content, and post-event evaluation. The role also includes briefing senior staff, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, including Health and Safety and Data Protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Communications Officer to agree overall event plans

  • Lead the planning phase and coordinate delivery with internal teams and stakeholders

  • Deliver events to a high professional standard, remaining flexible as priorities shift

  • Manage budgets and monitor expenditure

  • Oversee logistics, content production, and technical setup

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships across departments, including senior stakeholders

  • Provide detailed briefings and joining instructions to senior attendees and participants

  • Ensure events comply with health, safety, and data protection requirements

About You

We’re seeking a confident, experienced individual with:

  • Proven success in delivering both digital and in-person events

  • Strong project management and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively

  • Experience in budget planning and financial administration

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a diplomatic and professional approach

  • A good understanding of relevant compliance areas, including Health & Safety and Data Protection
