Are you a highly organised and motivated events professional with a passion for delivering impactful, high-profile events? We’re looking for an Events Officer to join our team and lead the planning and delivery of a wide range of events across the University.
About the Role
As Events Officer, you will take ownership of the planning, coordination, and delivery of events to a high professional standard. Working closely with the Communications Officer and other key stakeholders, you will ensure that each event is insight-led, well-organised, and delivers real value for our audiences.
You will oversee all aspects of the event lifecycle—from initial planning and logistics, to budgeting, production of content, and post-event evaluation. The role also includes briefing senior staff, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, including Health and Safety and Data Protection.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Communications Officer to agree overall event plans
Lead the planning phase and coordinate delivery with internal teams and stakeholders
Deliver events to a high professional standard, remaining flexible as priorities shift
Manage budgets and monitor expenditure
Oversee logistics, content production, and technical setup
Maintain strong, professional relationships across departments, including senior stakeholders
Provide detailed briefings and joining instructions to senior attendees and participants
Ensure events comply with health, safety, and data protection requirements
About You
We’re seeking a confident, experienced individual with:
Proven success in delivering both digital and in-person events
Strong project management and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively
Experience in budget planning and financial administration
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a diplomatic and professional approach
A good understanding of relevant compliance areas, including Health & Safety and Data Protection
