About the Role
This a great opportunity to join the Fine Art course at Nottingham School of Art & Design. The recent revalidation of the course which starts in 2026 provides exciting opportunities to establish yourself within the new curriculum which has a focus on engaging with both analogue techniques and digital technologies to expand the students practice. The recent opening this of the new Design & Digital Arts building provides the course with a range of new technologies and spaces to explore as well as the workshop and studio facilities accessible to our students which are rich and varied. Employability opportunities in the sector and beyond are embedded in the course curriculum and experiences within Nottinghams rich arts offer are an important part of the student experience. We have partnered with a number of the galleries in the city to provide unique opportunties for our students to engage first hand with the sector.
We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of contemporary art practice within a broad based context, ideally with specialist interest in the intersections between material practices and new technologies. You will have links with the wider art market and its related industries within professional or commercial contexts, either as a practitioner, an artist or curator and will have had some experience of working within HE. You will also have a good understanding of how audiences engage with art in a variety of in person contexts, and online platforms. You will have an excellent understanding of the subject area as well as knowledge of contextual research and current professional practice within the contemporary art field.
