As a dynamic and growing accountancy firm with over 1,000 employees, we are seeking a Semi Senior to join our innovative and forward-thinking Accounts Advisory team, to support the Dains group.

You will be responsible for providing accounting services, including preparing accounts for unincorporated and incorporated entities, from complete or incomplete records and assisting with the progression of trainees.

Key Responsibilities

  • To oversee/provide a competent bookkeeping service to clients including assistance with day-to-day queries, any significant issues, software matters etc.
  • To prepare an accurate set of accounts and tax computation for unincorporated and incorporated entities, from complete or incomplete records.
  • To efficiently plan jobs for preparation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • To supervise and assist trainees.
  • To develop commercial awareness and be able to use the information when liaising with the team or clients.
  • To understand and apply basic accountancy ratios.
  • To be aware of and apply, where appropriate, the concept of analytical review.
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with clients
  • To show commitment to the firm’s training programme (includes an element of own time to get the most out of the programme).

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Education: You hold an AAT Level 4 qualification and are working towards an ACA or ACCA qualification, with knowledge of the main accounting systems in the marketplace.
  • Technical Skills: You have the ability to prepare an accurate set of accounts from complete or incomplete records and be able to make notes for the attention of your Manager.
  • Communication Skills: You are credible and able to build strong trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You regularly communicate progress and challenges with team members and your line manager.
  • Teamwork: Understanding your role in the team, you take ownership of delivery for tasks, planning and scheduling your work to ensure it is completed on time and within budget.
  • Strategic Vision: You demonstrate strategic awareness and are able to apply your knowledge to understand and articulate the wider impact of the Accounts Advisory team to other specialisms.
