Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
Vacancy Details
In the Senior Quality Engineer position you will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all project inspections and technical requirements have been met. You’ll be working on large, complex, multi-disciplined projects within a strictly regulated environment – so it essential that you have previously worked for, or gained experienced at, an organization of a similar size. Supporting the on Site RWC with Welder Qualifications, Procedures and Weld tests will also play a big part in this role.

Other Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To
- Lead and maintain quality systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, including audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help in the development of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and quality documentation.
- Oversee welding quality: ensure compliance with WPS and industry standards.
- Support the Quality Manager and RWC with internal and third-party inspection (CSWIP, NDT – MT, PT, UT) to ensure ongoing compliance and traceability.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve technical queries and implement process-driven improvements.
- Prepare and communicate quality performance reports and interface with clients and external inspectors as needed.
- HNC Qualified in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline (BEng/HND advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural steel fabrication, with a strong background in welding and inspection.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with QMS tools and reporting systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, quality-driven approach.
