As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Cost Manager in the North of England, to work from either our Leeds or Sheffield offices. You can expect to become involved in:
- Local Authority works such as library buildings, and site remediation projects.
- Private sector works including commercial and education projects amongst others.
- Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, contract documents and reports.
- Building on existing client relationships and ensuring commissions are delivered on time.
- Liaising directly with clients and resourcing own jobs.
- Controlling day to day programming and planning.
- Supporting junior colleagues on a day-to-day basis.
- Participating in Design Team meetings, reporting on and giving advice on cost control matters.
You will be committed to enhancing our positive working culture, by having a compassionate attitude and always treating others with respect.
In order to be considered for this role, you must:
- Have relevant experience within Cost Management in a consultancy environment
- Be proficient in managing projects across the built environment, conducting feasibility studies, detailed cost planning and have both pre and post contract experience.
- Have thorough understanding of the principal standard forms of Building Contracts including JCT and NEC3
- Have experience liaising directly with clients
- Have ability to control day to day programming and planning
- Have excellent client communication skills, report writing skills, presentation skills at project level
- To have achieved Chartership
- To be undertaking regular CPD activities
- To have a strong track record of work and longevity within a previous role/s
