The Opportunity
As a Security Services Manager reporting to the Head of Security Engineering within our Enterprise Information Security team, you will be responsible for providing security services to the wider EDF UK group, which comprises of multiple different business units
Our Security Support team is comprises approximately 8 security engineering professionals, who are responsible for providing essential support services, and actively managing and maintaining our security platforms across the EDF cloud environments, data centres and offices across the country.
You’ll manage security engineers, helping to provide technical leadership, suitable direction across workloads and introducing SLAs. You will also be expected to deliver improvements to our ways of working, help to manage stakeholders from the wider department, introduce improvements to our processes and procedures.

Alongside a negotiable salary depending on experience starting from £65,000, potential to earn 5% bonus, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will support the ongoing personal development of the security engineers and map individuals’ strengths and development needs to our engineering competency framework.
You’ll collaborate with multiple different stakeholders from across our Enterprise Information Technology, as well as working closely with several different individuals from each of the EDF Business Units.
It will be your responsibility to ensure we are able to conform to our SLAs, and engineering KPIs.

Who You Are
We’re looking for someone with the following skills/experience:
- Experience managing and leading technical engineering teams
- A comprehensive understanding and professional experience of working with next generation firewalls, SASE platforms (Min 1-2 years of operating or maintaining security infrastructure)
- Exposure and experience working alongside or within Service Delivery teams, working to IT Delivery standards such as ITIL (Request, Incident, Change)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Direct engagement with customers from our business units and our Enterprise Information Technology teams
- A passion for providing excellent customer service with experience of working in a service centric environment.
- Proven experience working within regulated environments, not necessarily limited to industry specific
- Experience with asset management including lifecycle management and coordinating upgrade activity with appropriate governance
- Introducing and improving SLAs, KPIs, and operational standards
- Well versed in security control frameworks and have a good understanding and appreciation for operating layered security controls.
- A foundational knowledge of Enterprise Networking (Min 1-2 Years within either a network engineer role or security engineer role operating or maintaining network infrastructure)
- Ability to produce clear and straightforward documentation, including reporting & project packs.
- Any exposure to email gateways, load balancers, and vulnerability management tooling in a complex corporate enterprise environment would be beneficial.
