Date: 20 hours ago
City: Witney, England
Contract type: Full time

Bring your passion, ideas, and purpose to life in a company that can truly help you achieve your full potential.
World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops, and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. Our Witney site is positioned at the centre of both Manufacturing Excellence and Innovation in the development and manufacture of our test strip and biosensor products used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.
As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have an exciting opportunity to join our site EHS team, with a particular focus on contractor management.
Day to day, you will be responsible for supporting our expanding site, focusing predominantly on contractor liaison. You will manage and supervise all contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring adherence to work authorisation and permit-to-work processes. By escorting and monitoring contractors onsite, you will ensure security protocols are followed, and through walkarounds and inspections, you will act as a role model for continuous improvement. Additionally, you will review and manage documentation, including risk assessments and method statements (RAMS). You will coordinate bookings and support compliance with site-specific processes, assist EHS and Facilities teams with compliance checks and site access arrangements, and ensure permit completion complies with local and regional legislation
You will be required to work un-supervised and complete all work tasks in a timely manner, working safely with specific procedures for tasks and documenting all worked carried out on an electronic PC based maintenance reporting system.
To be successful you will ideally have a NEBOSH General Certificate or suitable Level 3 equivalent in Environment, Health, and Safety or Environment, or bring a strong underpinning experience in a similar role with equivalent level qualifications. You will bring a breadth of experience in contractor management, and a working knowledge of the current Construction (Design & Management) Regulations is preferable for this role due to the varying scope of site projects. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, highly organised and excited about joining a team at the forefront of Diabetes Care innovation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but interactive on a wider business scale. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
In addition to a competitive salary, Abbott offers a highly attractive benefits package which includes a defined-contribution pension scheme, private healthcare, life assurance and a flexible benefits scheme which you can tailor to your own requirements. Here at Witney, we also like to help our employee’s live life to the fullest, and therefore we offer a range of optional initiatives for you to get involved in, including onsite allotments, couch to 5k campaigns, bee keeping, yoga and more!
