Head of Agent Oversight
Hybrid – Swindon or London
Salary - £85,000 to £90,000 + Bonus The role of Head of Agent Oversight is to monitor and control the key activities outsourced to Agents of PPS UK The scope includes all activities outsourced to Agents including customer onboarding and monitoring, customer management and interaction, security, operational and financial resilience, training, business continuity and wind down planning Compliance with various regulations is a key objective of the Agent Oversight function, including payment regulations, anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing regulations, consumer duty, data privacy, sanctions and PEP compliance, consumer protection The Head of Agent Oversight will be responsible for developing and managing a dedicated team and leveraging the expertise of other internal subject matter experts to ensure robust and systematic risk-based oversight and control of the activities undertaken by Agents Accountable to Chief Risk and Compliance Officer Key Working Relationships External

- Develop a vision for the team and provide guidance and training to the Agent Oversight analyst.
- Owning, planning, and conducting due diligence testing in relation to Agents.
- Organise monthly Agent Oversight meetings and maintain comprehensive, transparent, and follow-through on actionable risks.
- Ensure Agents’ practices adhere to current ways of working and adjust to future legislation/regulation. Maintain oversight and control of Agent activities.
- Oversight of policies, procedures, and tools being used by Agents
- Drive change through continual engagement with Agents and internal stakeholders.
- Capture meaningful insight from Agents to ensure PPS controls are efficient and effective
- Ensure appropriate risks and issues are escalated
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of monthly Agent Oversight reporting is a fair reflection of their current controls
- Overseeing and ensuring that the Agent’s execution of PPS controls is accurate and compliant and address any key issues and control gaps
- Conduct monthly sampling
- Perform qualitative analysis of results and ensure accuracy and report findings in a consistent and robust manner to the governance committee
- Work collaboratively with operational areas to drive resolution of gaps identified
- Develop key metrics on Agent’s performance and outliers for action
- Coordinate annual self-assessments and ensure reporting accurately identifies risks that need to be mitigated
- Undertake on site Agent visits
- Provide appropriate MI to ExeCo and Board
- At least five years’ experience in working in a regulated payment or financial organization.
- Good understanding and awareness of regulatory requirements within AML/fraud/compliance/risk/security domains.
- Understanding of risk and control in a financial crime compliance environment
- Experience in managing and implementing control frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience managing teams. Strong people development and management skills.
- Flexibility to rapidly understand complex problems and rationalise these into workable solutions for Agents and PPS.
- Experience of working under pressure, in an ever changing and challenging environment.
- Understanding of FCA rules and regulations.
- Proven experience in implementing and reviewing processes and controls and identifying weaknesses.
- Proven experience and strong competency in relationship management.
- Any relevant certification is a plus (e.g., CAMS, AML certificate, audit, etc.)
