About this opportunity
We are searching for an assistant project manager to join our Tunbridge Wells office as a junior member of the project Management team. Supporting on, and working towards delivering projects independently, you will work closely with Gleeds surveyors & project managers of various levels. Working with a variety of local clients, you will gain exposure to new build, refurbishment, fit-out and regeneration projects throughout Kent and neighbouring counties.

Providing specialist PM consultancy services on behalf of public & private sector clients, spanning local & central government, private funders, developers and land owners, you will work on schemes ranging in scale & value, from £100k+ stand alone projects to £100m+ national programmes.

To support your continued development and aid in your pursuit of professional qualification, we have both local and central resources, and a bespoke APC programme to optimise your progression, with APC mentors on hand, and a dedicated people development team responsible for delivering high standards of training to you.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting delivery of high quality services and ensuring that project management deliverables meet customer requirements
  • Assist with delivery of high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures
  • Supporting with, and developing skills in administering contracts as contract administrator, employer’s agent or project manager
  • Taking part in producing and presenting to customers
  • Assisting in preparation of bids for services
  • Supporting senior team members to ensure all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks
  • Remaining in the remit of your role

Attaining one of the following professional qualifications:

MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
CHPP (APM) (Chartered Project Professional with the Association for Project Management)

Who we’re looking for

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills:

As Assistant Project Manager, you will ideally have some knowledge and experience in the following:
  • RIBA / Project stages
  • Project management tools and techniques
  • Procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
  • Specification and procurement of facilities supplies and services
  • Health and safety for facilities services
  • Contract administration and management
  • Clear and effective communication skills – both oral and written
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changes
  • Sound problem solving, negotiating, financial management and numeracy skills
  • Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an industry relevant subject, such as project management, surveying or real estate (preferably RICS accredited)
