LOCATION: Salford – Hybrid

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,000 - £32,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Want to work on some of the most popular brands for UK children? The Children’s and Education Platforms team are looking for Researchers who are passionate about digital platforms. Researchers play a key role in creating and curating digital content on BBC and third-party platforms. Writing compelling copy and producing video, image and quiz content for the Children’s websites, App Stores, Social, YouTube, and TV channels, delivering creative excellence that connects with UK audiences.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

Join the Children’s and Education Platforms team as a Researcher, where you’ll help shape engaging app experiences for 2–12 year olds and their grown-ups. You will have the opportunity to continue to develop your production, writing, and project management skills. You’ll be working closely with various BBC digital teams to ensure that our output meets audience expectations while delivering on our BBC Children’s and Education vision.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

  • Create and publish compelling content for BBC web and app platforms as well as 3rd party platforms including Social/YouTube/ Roblox.
  • Generate ideas for web and app content based on branded activations, trends, topical events, with a focus on 0-6 year olds and their grown-ups as well as 6-12 year olds.
  • Edit videos, create promotional imagery, write promotional copy and make puzzles and quizzes for the young audience.
  • Deliver content to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest production standards.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships through regular communication with internal and external colleagues and partners.
  • Community management, managing UGC and web and app store comments.
  • Monitor and analyse data to recommend ideas to drive performance.

Essential Criteria

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of working with digital platforms in a professional capacity.
  • Solid experience of using Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on video and picture editing as well as CMS
  • Can develop and communicate creative ideas.
  • Strong copywriting skills for online and broadcast platforms.
  • Understands the needs of our audience.

Desired But Not Required

  • Knowledge of SEO is a desirable skill to help optimise content visibility and reach across digital platforms
