Are you an OT looking for a new challenge in an innovative, one-of-a-kind mental health service, and to build on a fascinating quality improvement project, looking to improve the transition from inpatient admission back into the community?

If so, we may have just the role you’re looking for. The Wolds is a 16-bed, mixed-gender, Mental Health Rehabilitation ward. It is located in our purpose-built rehabilitation unit, Discovery House, in Lincoln. We seek to appoint a full-time Occupational Therapist, on a fixed-term contract of 9 months, to join our team to cover for Maternity Leave.

Alongside the main duties within the remit of the ward Occupational Therapist, highlighted below. You will have the opportunity to support implementing a new community access transitional programme. Designed to support clear guidance around the increased role responsibility required as a person works towards discharge. Alongside this, you will get to lead a Quality Improvement project. Working with the wider Multi-disciplinary team and the patient group to co-produce a catalogue of community services for patients to access as part of their recovery pathway.

The post holder will be responsible for working on the Rehabilitation mental health ward as a valued member of the wards multi-disciplinary team, undertaking specialist assessments of patients, developing appropriate treatment plans and interventions alongside the nursing team.

To manage a defined caseload of clients with occupational needs as a result of an on-going mental health episode, using evidence based, client centred, recovery, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.

To carry out assessments, developing therapeutic groups and working 1-1 with patients using evidence based, client centred, recovery, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.

The post holder will provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
