Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join our B&Q 2-person Home Delivery Contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast paced and dynamic team. The role will be based at our Branston (Burton-upon-Trent) site, reporting to the Assistant Accountant.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, although some flexibility may be given.

Salary range £25.000 to £28.000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of customer weekly accounts and KPIs.
  • Completion of Wincanton weekly and month end accounts
    • Posting journals including payroll, prepayments and accruals
    • Balance sheets and open book reconciliations
  • Assist with annual budget and re-forecasts
  • Raise purchase orders for suppliers as required
  • Raise sales ledger invoices as required
  • Provide support to other members of the finance team, including adhoc project work and holiday cover for Assistant Accountant

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, with high emphasis on Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with problems and challenges
  • Enthusiastic, reliable and highly organised
  • Have an eye for detail and be proactive, with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a wider team.
  • Flexible and motivated to be able to work under pressure and the ability to meet time critical targets
  • AAT qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification
