We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Naval Architecture to lead our naval architecture team. This role oversees the design and development of our advanced maritime platforms, with a primary focus on our next-generation craft VICTA. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of naval architecture principles and confidence in leading a technical team in the application of them, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities will include:

• 
  Lead and mentor a team of naval architects, providing technical guidance and assuring the output of the team in the delivery of our products
• 
  Create an efficient department built on industry-leading techniques and data-driven solutions to minimize the time from problem to product
• 
  Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
• 
  Confidently interface with internal and external customers to understand requirements and provide technical expertise
• 
  Maintain and champion excellent verbal and written communication with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams
• 
  Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing project requirements and timelines
• 
  Lead the team in adopting new technologies, processes, and methodologies
• 
  Manage change effectively to ensure minimal disruption to project delivery and team dynamics
  

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• 
  Degree-qualified in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or a related field
• 
  Proven track record in designing advanced maritime platforms, preferably including subsurface vessels
• 
  Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for personal development of others
• 
  Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Rhino, Inventor, Star-CCM+, Paramarine, Maxsurf)
• 
  Familiarity with Atlassian suite is beneficial
• 
  Professional registration (chartership) with an appropriate institution desirable
  

Note : Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum e xisting right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Clearance likely to be required for specific projects.*
