What you'll be doing
As a Planning and Scheduling Lead, you will have the following accountabilities,- Lead and inspire a high-performing planning
team with the correct, alliancing, behaviours fostering a culture of
excellence and collaboration across all alliance members. - Understand, demonstrate and champion the principles of the MEH alliance.
- Drive the creation of a detailed project schedule from the early stages. Establish a robust project controls baseline that will be used for all future performance tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
- Develop, maintain, and update initial project schedules using tools like Primavera or MS Project. Establish the sequencing and tracking methodologies that will guide the project as it progresses.
- Ensure cost management processes are integrated with the project schedule, supporting budget profiles, variance analysis, and life-cycle costing.
- Identify, analyse, and mitigate early-stage risks that could impact the project's, schedule. Implement risk mapping and uncertainty mapping to the schedule collaborating with the risk team.
- Establish reporting frameworks to deliver regular progress updates for stakeholders. Utilise earned value management (EVM) to strengthen performance assessment baselines and forecast project outcomes accurately.
- Coordinate and track the allocation of initial resources by resource loading the schedule, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Produce resource histograms and profiles to support the delivery and resource management at the task level where appropriate.
- Implement robust change control processes to assess and manage scope changes across the MEHA baseline, ensuring all changes are documented, approved, and effectively communicated.
- Collaborate across MEHA partners to align schedules, ensuring consistency in standards, methodologies, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with quality teams to define early-stage quality standards and control measures, ensuring that as the project progresses, it adheres to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with the commercial and contract management teams to ensure that all contractual obligations are met and any variations are managed effectively within the project controls framework.
- Develop and deploy a suite of digital tools to enable advanced data analysis and forecasting, leveraging AI, machine learning, and BIM technologies to enhance project planning and decision-making.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Work cross-functionally to identify and implement the digital tools and systems required to support full operating capability within the alliance.
- Establish transparent and effective communication channels across all alliance partners, clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and visibility into project performance.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for,- A degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific
disciplines relative to the role profile. - MAPM, P6 Advanced, accreditation plus experience planning on large complex scale projects.
- Extensive experience as a Lead Planner on large and complex
infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on projects in their early
stages of development. - Experience in the overall project controls integration and how the
schedule is vital in delivering success. - In-depth understanding of earned value analysis (EVA) and other key
project controls methodologies. - Previous experience in developing detailed schedules and working with a
large team of planning engineers with interface schedules. - Ability to gain a security clearance.
