The Role

As a Delivery Assurance & Governance Analyst, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the Portfolio Governance framework and schedule and ensure Digital & IT Projects and Programmes adhere to the structure.
  • Own and maintain governance templates and logs (Weekly Status, Portfolio Governance Forums, Risks & Issues, Dependencies, RESA, Investment Case, Change Request, Actions and Decisions).
  • Ensure strict adherence to Change Control processes whenever a deviation is required from a baselined deliverable, including scope, requirements, costs and timescales.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Governance calendar and deadlines across the Portfolio.
  • Schedule Governance meetings and collate and provide supporting Governance material.
  • Engage with new joiners (particularly Project Managers & Business Architects) to ensure Governance processes and timelines are understood.
  • Regularly liaise with Project Managers to support the successful Governance according to agreed standards and processes, ensuring integrity of baseline information for projects and programmes; such as budgets, milestone dates, investment approval phases.
  • Oversee the administration of Projects’ Investment and Change Control Processes, to provide assurance that all the projects in the portfolio are appropriately governed and changes to baselined deliverables across the portfolio are managed appropriately.
  • Support the continuous improvement of portfolio management arrangements; including procedures, guidance notes and governance structures.
  • Support the Delivery Assurance and Governance Manager in Assurance meetings, deep dives, and plan reviews.
  • Assure and oversee Programme/Projects risks and issues management, assumptions and dependencies, supporting Programme/Project managers identifying root causes and recovery plans.
  • Regularly attend ARB, ensuring supporting documentation is available in advance of the Board and attendances, actions, decisions and minutes are recorded and distributed, and status monitored and updated.
  • Support Portfolio governance activities by providing a secretariat to the Portfolio Governance Forums.

The Skills

  • Solid analytical skills, with the ability to interpret multiple sources of complex data to draw conclusions and derive recommendations.
  • Demonstrable experience of interacting with multiple projects across different delivery stages.
  • Experience of managing a range of stakeholders and able to demonstrate a successful record of accomplishment in influencing and negotiating
  • Ability to work across and respect cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Develop and maintain effective stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing situations.
  • Ability to clearly present and explain complex information in both verbal and written form.
  • Project management skills, with clear knowledge of project and programme delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and work with a team of skilled IT professionals, made up of internal and contract staff.
