Senior Facilities and Capital Lead Engineer

Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd

Date: 15 hours ago
City: Barry, Wales
Contract type: Full time
We’re searching for a highly capable and driven Senior Facilities & Capital Lead Engineer to lead the design, execution, and oversight of critical infrastructure projects across our site. This is a hands-on project management role within a fast-moving automotive manufacturing environment, where you'll steer projects from initial concept through to delivery—while managing a team, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

You’ll be responsible for the planning and refurbishment of facilities and capital equipment projects, with accountability for vendor selection, CAPEX oversight, budget phasing, installation, and governance. You’ll also lead cross-department collaboration, ensuring our processes are safe, compliant, and future-focused—while embedding sustainability and efficiency into every decision you make.

Your leadership will shape a proactive team culture and an energy-efficient, safety-first workplace. From overseeing preventative maintenance to implementing building management systems and supervising contractors, your role is central to keeping our operations running smoothly, sustainably, and to the highest standards.

This is a fully onsite position, five days a week at our St Athan site. Some travel may be required on an ad hoc basis to support business priorities.

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in project management, facilities engineering and experience with automated equipment—ideally in the automotive sector. A degree or HNC in engineering (or equivalent) is essential, alongside demonstrable leadership, project management, and communication skills. Experience with layout optimisation, AutoCAD, and familiarity with ISO standards is a bonus.

In return, we offer a collaborative environment with real opportunities for career progression. You’ll work on projects that shape the future of manufacturing and play a key role in delivering our strategic vision.
