Job Summary
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army.
HQ Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) provides NATO with a rapidly deployable, flexible HQ that can act as a Joint, Land or Corps HQ for operations and crisis response. Its multi-national ethos, combination of cultures and innovation, strong professional reputation in NATO and proven track record in interoperability are unique among its High Readiness Force (Land) peers.
People are the Army’s biggest asset and it is vital that they are properly managed. The Discipline Branch within HQ ARRC is responsible for staffing, managing and assuring all military discipline casework for personnel assigned to HQ ARRC and its subordinate formations. A recent increase in the number of formations that sit under the HQ ARRC structure has resulted in a need to increase the size of the current Discipline branch.
The role will include assurance of Service Law, Warnings and Sanctions and Service Complaint casework across HQ ARRC and subordinate formations in accordance with policy. This will include the assurance of all ARRC discipline casework in accordance with the Army Personnel Services Group (APSG) Assurance Framework via the MODs IT systems; liaising with HQ ARRC units to ensure relevancy, accuracy and transparency of case work; reducing delay of all HQ ARRC discipline casework with particular focus on the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the collation of data to support statistical analysis.
Flexible working is available (after a 6 month probation period) subject to LM agreement and business needs being met.

Job Description
As the Discipline Assurance Clerk, your role in the branch is to:
The successful candidate will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, who can work independently with good time management. You must also enjoy being part of a team who want to work together to the benefit of those we are supporting. It goes without saying that there is a need for absolute discretion regarding the casework information that will be available to you. You should also be aware that some of the cases you will be privy to may require you to have a degree of mental resilience.
Your keen eye for detail and the ability to think though a task for the follow-on steps will be vital to enable you to highlight errors in casework, along with an inquisitive mind that wants to delve into policy to find the right answers to queries.
While not essential, the ideal candidate may have experience of working within the military discipline system, and may have previously been a Staff Support Assistant, or Staff Support Specialist. Full training on military IT systems can be given to the successful candidate.
