CAD/Draughtsperson

W M Donald Ltd is seeking a skilled Draughtsman to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will support the development and delivery of our projects by producing accurate technical drawings, 3D models, and documentation in line with client requirements and company standards. This role is critical to ensuring our engineering output remains high-quality, efficient, and compliant with legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Draughting Support

• Produce accurate site drawings and 3D models
• Undertake detailed draughting for design and development
• Update existing engineering drawings and documentation
• Create and maintain drawing/document control systems
• Assist with basic calculations to validate design changes
  
  

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure work complies with relevant legislation, standards, and project requirements
• Demonstrate awareness of H&S, environmental, and quality management systems (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001)
• Accurately report incidents and potential hazards
  
  

Collaboration & Communication

• Liaise with Contracts Managers and other departments as required
• Attend team briefs and contribute to engineering milestones
• Support the business plan(s) and operational targets
  
  

Essential

Qualifications & Experience

• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and results-driven approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• General IT literacy, including intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  
  

Desirable

• HNC in an engineering discipline
• CSCS Card
• Understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards
