How will you contribute?
- To undertake the shunting of trailers on and off bays while ensuring correct trailers are dispatched
- Responsible for ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and timely
- Responsible for the control of busy yard area
- Responsible for securing trestles under unaccompanied container skeletals to allow safe offloading
- Responsible for daily yard and trailer checks
- Liaising with drivers collecting from site to ensure correct vehicles are dispatched
- Liaising with the Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure trailers are loaded and depart on time.
- Liaising with Fleet Manager and Transport for VOR control and maintenance
- Maintain documentation or systems input to ensure trailer locations are accurately recorded and updated
- Provide information to help collation of management information
- Class 1 Licence and full CPC
- Have over 1 years’ experience driving Class 1
- You will be required to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally at all levels
- Must be capable of working under your own initiative
- Will be prepared to carry out other ‘ad hoc’ duties as and when required
- Possess a positive can do attitude with logical organisational skills
- Flexibility and the will to learn new skills and to undertake new challenges
- You will have a proactive and committed approach towards all aspects of the job and ensure high standards in health and safety, customer service and legal compliance are met and exceeded
