Job Title: Global Payroll Lead (EMEA)

The Global Payroll Lead is responsible for the Company’s day-to-day processing of payroll and tax across the EMEA + APAC regions (15+ countries). The role will develop and execute the strategy for payroll across Insulet’s global regions in EMEA + APAC and will oversee the payroll experience and work closely with Operations, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of payroll processing, tax submissions, and compliance reporting. Position Overview:
The Global Payroll Lead is responsible for the Company’s day-to-day processing of payroll and tax across the EMEA + APAC regions (15+ countries). The role will develop and execute the strategy for payroll across Insulet’s global regions in EMEA + APAC and will oversee the payroll experience and work closely with Operations, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of payroll processing, tax submissions, and compliance reporting. This role will report directly to the Global Payroll Director and will align the global payroll processes to deliver a secure, integrated payroll process with complete documentation, processes, and controls Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute activities related to EMEA payroll operations, ensuring the timely preparation, processing, and documentation of transactions, including time & attendance, pay & benefits, leave, taxes & tax filings, and other deductions as required
- Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, and Legal to understand expectations, assess gaps, and prioritize global process improvements
- Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for payroll and tax-related questions
- Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with payroll service providers, auditors, and tax and governmental agencies to ensure alignment
- Timely address and resolve payroll and compliance-related questions, and identify opportunities to scale processes and enhance global payroll operational efficiency and security
- Evaluate and implement global payroll processes and record retention systems that enhance internal controls and ensure accurate, secure, and transparent financial reporting
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to develop and integrate standardized global payroll processing and reporting practices throughout EMEA + APAC
- Research and implement country, regional, and local regulations to ensure the establishment of new entities and tax jurisdictions as required
- Direct payroll reporting and assist with financial audits related to payroll records and the associated general ledger
- Ensure compliance with country payroll, wage laws, and best practices
- Identify, recommend, and implement enhancements to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
- Prepare systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience of full-cycle payroll experience, including managing taxes
- Must have experience managing payroll across multiple countries within EMEA and APAC (e.g., UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Australia, etc.)
- Must have experience with Workday
- Experience with complex global payroll issues: multi-region setups, short- and long-term disability, general benefit knowledge, garnishments, etc.
- Manufacturing industry experience is an asset
- Experience in implementing payroll systems
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Experience with oversight and auditing of payroll and payroll tax laws.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate at multiple levels of the organization.
- Must be flexible, work well under pressure, and have the ability to readily adapt to change.
- Strong computer skills and technical capabilities in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Concur, and Workday
