The Opportunity

The Electric Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, installation of electrical infrastructure with a focus on quality of installation and compliance with approved design parameters and current legislation and Codes of Practice. The PM will in all cases look to provide a single point of contact on behalf of LEEP for post sales and pre-adoption activities to LEEP’s contracted customers and stakeholders.

The PM is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the Delivery phase of the project relating to SHE, CDM, Design compliance, Approval, Programme Forecasting & Integrity, Financial Control, Sub-contractor Management, Defect Management and the Asset handover process.

General Responsibilities

  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others affected by your actions or omissions
  • Responsible for ensuring that all activities related to their BAU Electric Project Delivery aligns with UK SHE legislation and any regulatory licence obligations
  • Responsibility for following all Leep SHEQ policies and procedures
  • Embody and promote Leep Utilities' core values in all decisions and behaviour
  • Identify and raise process improvements and efficiencies with the UK Head of Project Delivery
  • Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with the team’s Table of Accountability (ToA) and RACI matrix
  • Promptly escalate issues using the correct channels and ensure resolution or acknowledgment
  • Support the budget-setting process within the Operations Directorate including forecasting for connections growth for their projects and any additional training needs
  • Support the ad hoc day to day business needs associated with safe, technically robust, regulatory, legislative and efficient adoption and construction for your BAU Electric Projects
  • Produce accurate and timely forecast and project status reports for internal performance monitoring and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) updates

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring BAU Electric Projects are delivered as per Leep’s current process and documented procedures
  • Accountable that all assigned project design activity is completed by accredited third parties and properly logged and reported in line with Guaranteed Standards of Performance (GSOP)
  • Manage each project in line with the capital budget, tracking performance, and ensure compliance with financial, commercial, and regulatory requirements
  • Be accountable that financial controls are adhered to, including timely purchase order management, invoice review, and variance reporting are being undertaken across all assigned projects
  • Responsible for conducting regular audits of all sites and partners ensuring that any issues or defects are managed to resolution using the current company systems and procedures
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless asset handover with all documentation and contracts in place and that installation standards and pre-water on commissioning and testing meets or exceeds regulatory requirements
  • Provide ad hoc operational support to the Head of Project Delivery on all assigned BAU Electric Projects for site enquiries or escalations
  • Ensure assets are delivered to best industry standards

About You

  • Proven Experience. 5+ years in Projct Management or Team Supervision within an ICP, IDNO or DNO. A solid track record in the design and construction of HV (High Voltage) and LV (Low Voltage) electricity networks. Practical knowledge of contestable works and the IDNO process.
  • Technical and Industry Knowledege. Strong understanding of multi-utility asset standards, especially NJUG guidelines. Up-to-date knowledge of electricity regulatory standards and the compliance processes that support them. Expert-level familiarity with asset adoption and the legal documentation required for successful project delivery. A good grasp of health & safety management, including experience with audits.
  • Leadership and Communication. Confident stakeholder manager with excellent communication skills. Experience developing and managing personnel to deliver against strategic and operational goals.
  • Financial and Digital Skills. Demonstrated financial acumen, with a strong history of working within budgets. Proficient in using digital tools and platforms, with strong computer and reporting skills.
