The role

We are looking for an experienced Loader/Shunter to join our dynamic and fast-paced Logistics team. As a key part of the operation, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth and safe movement of materials and vehicles within our facility, ensuring that production and warehouse processes run efficiently and on time.

This position is well-suited to someone with a keen eye for safety and attention to detail.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and materials on-site, coordinating with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely deliveries, and supporting operational flow with minimal disruption.

What you'll do

• Obtain and maintain all necessary VEKA and regulatory vehicle licenses.
• Operate HGV vehicles safely within the yard and ensure daily safety checks and defect reporting are completed.
• Load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely, maintaining required standards and liaising closely with Supervisors and Transport colleagues.
• Keep the loading bay clear and ensure customer deliveries are prompt and accurate.
• Assist the Warehouse team with stock movement when needed and maintain transport utilisation records.
• Scan delivery notes accurately into the system and communicate effectively across all business levels.
• Promote and follow all Company policies, health and safety standards, and VEKA values.
• Maintain excellent customer relations by handling merchandise carefully and ensuring accuracy.
• Provide flexible cover during busy periods, including night shifts as required.
• Use initiative and good judgment to benefit both the Company and its customers.

What you'll need

• A valid FLT licence.
• An HGV shunting certificate (or willingness to undertake company-provided training).
• A flexible and reliable approach to shift work (14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday).
• A good understanding of vehicle safety, handling procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
