At Manchester United, we believe that excellence on the pitch starts with excellence off the pitch. Our team thrives in a high-performance environment, united by a shared passion for success. We aim to elevate the standard of performance through collaboration and continuous growth, creating a space where everyone can contribute their best to our common goals.
We work together at our iconic Manchester United offices, enabling connection and innovation as we look ahead to what we can achieve as a global football club. We are excited to bring in passionate people who share our vision and drive for success.
The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced People Partner to join our team and play a strategic role in supporting business growth, performance, and culture. As a trusted partner to senior leaders, you’ll be responsible for aligning people strategies with business goals, using your commercial insight and HR expertise to deliver high-impact outcomes.
This isn’t an advisory or generalist role. You’ll work closely with the business to proactively shape workforce plans, lead change, and drive a high-performance, inclusive culture, with strong support from our specialist HR teams (Talent Acquisition, ER, Reward, OD).
The People Partner plays a key role in enabling a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce while driving people initiatives that support the club's goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Build strong, influential relationships with senior leaders and managers
- Translate business goals into people priorities that enable growth and performance
- Act as a change agent — promoting collaboration, cohesion, and communication through times of change
- Use HR data and commercial insight to inform decisions and shape strategy
- Partner on organisational design, workforce planning, and succession management
- Support talent reviews, development planning, and performance initiatives
- Collaborate with specialists across Reward, L&D, ER and Talent to deliver joined-up solutions
- Lead or support employee engagement planning, ensuring action follows insight
- Coach leaders and managers to strengthen capability, engagement and team effectiveness
- Provide expert support on complex employee relations matters
- Champion a values-led, inclusive workplace culture
- Demonstrative experience in a true HR Business Partnering role, supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced, commercial environment
- Proven ability to align HR strategies with business objectives, acting as a strategic partner rather than an advisor
- Deep understanding of employment law, with the ability to apply it pragmatically in a business context
- Strong experience influencing and coaching senior stakeholders, with a track record of driving high-impact people decisions
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support organisational change and transformation initiatives
- Confident working with people data and HR systems to drive insight and inform decision making.
What We Offer:
At Manchester United, we recognise that our people are at the heart of our success. That’s why we offer a range of rewards designed to support your professional and personal well-being:
- Annual incentive scheme
- Wellness Support with access to mental health resources, digital health checks, and & nutritionists through Aviva Digicare+ Workplace
- Exclusive Discounts through our United Rewards platform, giving you access to exclusive deals from the club and partners
- Gym Facilities in our onsite locations and opportunities for regular social events and team-building activities
- Enhanced family Leave Benefits and an opportunity to purchase additional holiday days
- Enhanced Career Development with access to professional learning platforms like LinkedIn Learning, and internal training programs
- A Supportive Work Environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion, and individual growth
At Manchester United, we believe that a diverse and inclusive environment makes us stronger.
