The Apprenticeships Unit are responsible for supporting the development, recruitment and delivery of degree apprenticeships. We currently work with over 400 employers and over 3000 apprentices. The Apprenticeships Unit is an exciting and dynamic team working across the University and with apprenticeship employers to deliver high quality and industry relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

We are now seeking to recruit an Apprenticeships Projects Administrator to support the delivery of degree apprenticeships from the initial applicant stage through to successful completion of programmes. This role will provide critical administrative and project support within the wider Apprenticeships Unit, including first line support to Manchester Met staff, apprentices and employers.

This role would be well suited to candidates with excellent attention to detail, who work well in a team environment and have excellent customer services skills.


Typically, you will:

  • Provide specialist administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of the University's apprenticeship programmes
  • Process applications and contracts in a timely manner at key points in the year in line with the Government regulations
  • Report on apprentice attendance, monitoring absences and problem solving timetable issues
  • Support the End Point Assessment process, following strict DfE and University guidance
  • Record accurate minutes and actions across a range of meetings
  • Make effective use of a wide range of IT systems (such as CRM and other key campus administrative systems) to capture and maintain accurate records and data

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A high standard of communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own work managing competing priorities
  • Proven experience of minute taking and providing a summary of actions
  • Proven ability in the use of Microsoft Excel and the management of data across a wide range of software
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to build good relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders
