Job Description
The Project Engineer will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of projects (number and complexity to be determined based on experience), reporting to the Senior Project Manager. The role requires regular interaction with multiple contractors, demanding strong self-management and time management skills.
The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, high levels of drive and motivation, and the ability to effectively prioritise workload — all essential to succeeding in this role.

Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Project Manager in the development, monitoring, and reporting of project progress.
- Provide support during mechanical Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of manufactured components. This will involve UK-wide travel to sub-contractor sites.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and project readiness reviews.
- Participate in site walkdowns and work closely with sub-contractors to ensure enabling documentation is in place for progression into the construction phase.
- Lead or support progress meetings with sub-contractors to monitor performance and resolve issues.
- Attend client progress meetings and represent the project delivery team.
- Apply and promote awareness of CDM Regulations within the nuclear industry on all construction-related activities.
- Liaise closely with the site delivery team to ensure alignment and continuity.
- Identify and manage areas of significant project risk, escalating where appropriate.
- Work effectively within a highly regulated environment.
- Experience in construction engineering, site supervision, or construction installation/project management.
- Hold, or be able to obtain, the required security clearance.
- APM PMQ qualification or demonstrable project delivery experience at an appropriate level.
- Experience in project management within the nuclear decommissioning sector; familiarity with NEC3 contracts is desirable.
- Strong teamworking and people management skills.
- Effective stakeholder and client management capabilities.
- Client- and customer-focused with a track record of successful collaboration.
