The Role
As a Public Area Cleaner, this role is critical to maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our Café, Attraction and Public Areas. You’ll need to have attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to ensuring a comfortable and pleasant customer experience which will contribute to the overall success of the museum.
Responsibilities Include
Bodmin Jail is a Victorian prison which has held thousands of prisoners in its time and closed in 1923. The building has recently gone through an extensive refurbishment and now offers a unique experience in a grade II listed building, incorporating state of the art technology, which showcases the building’s and Cornwall’s outstanding heritage, and a luxurious boutique hotel and varied F&B options. Bodmin Jail is historically rich, engaging and like nowhere else. Our team is small, dedicated and passionate about history and customer experience above all else. The Role
As a Public Area Cleaner, this role is critical to maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our Café, Attraction and Public Areas. You’ll need to have attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to ensuring a comfortable and pleasant customer experience which will contribute to the overall success of the museum.
Responsibilities Include
- Perform routine cleaning tasks in public areas, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and other communal spaces to ensure professional cleanliness and a welcome environment
- Vacuum carpets, mop and/or sweep hard floors to maintain a neat and polished appearance.
- Monitor and address any spills or stains promptly to prevent safety hazards
- Clean and sanitise bathrooms regularly, ensuring a high level of cleanliness and the availability of essential amenities.
- Empty bins in public areas and dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and clean working environment
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous experience in cleaning or a similar role is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
