About The FCA
The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. Follow this link to find out more About the FCA.
The FCA has identified potential harms arising from Appointed Representatives (ARs) and their principals, which operate in a wide range of financial markets. To address these risks of harm, an AR Department has been set up to undertake targeted action against the highest risk business models and Principals/ARs which represent the most significant risks of harm.
The AR Department has four teams – three Case Management Teams and a Strategy and Engagement Team, which are all supported by a Data Unit. The three Case Management Teams intervene in the most complex cases of serious harm and are responsible for delivering both reactive casework and proactive multi-firm projects. The Strategy and Engagement Team leads on the development of the strategic direction of the AR strategy to maximise our impact, engaging across the FCA to deliver a co-ordinated strategy.
