Job Title: Team Leader
Location: Coventry, UK
Work Hours: Rotating 3 Shifts (Morning, Afternoon & Nights) Monday to Friday. Other shifts when required.
Vacancy Type: Full-time, Permanent and On-site
Salary: £32,000 per annum

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations in the SOTOS department, ensuring production targets are met on time, on cost and to exacting standards. You’ll manage a skilled team, lead daily Comm Zone meetings, apply lean methodologies, and act as a role model for excellence, quality and safety.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Lead daily team communications, delegate tasks, and ensure completion of production activities
- Monitor and drive performance through KPIs, Comm Zone meetings and visual reporting
- Oversee task execution and final product checks, ensuring quality and compliance
- Apply lean principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise processes
- Act as a role model for safety and continuous improvement, influencing team behaviours
- Partner with Engineering, Logistics, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment across operations
- Manage operator skills and training development within the team
- Support customer visits and readiness reviews with confidence and professionalism
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, work bookings and traceability records
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A proven leader with at least 5 years’ experience in team leadership within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques (5S, Kaizen, 8D, etc.)
- Experienced in managing production against deadlines and budgets in a high-standards environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence, delegate, and drive accountability
- Comfortable with MS Office applications, including Excel at an intermediate level
- Able to navigate between production and engineering environments with credibility and calm
CRITICAL OUTPUTS
- Achieve monthly production targets to cost, quality and schedule
- Maintain accurate documentation and traceability using QAD
- Drive year-on-year cost efficiencies in line with business goals
- Embed lean standards and ensure audit readiness across the department
- Develop and maintain an engaged, trained, and high-performing team
