Would you like to be a part of an exciting new team offering direct support to families experiencing mental health issues? If so, this could be the role for you.

The Connected Families Service is new to East Sussex and will enable families to access meaningful, targeted and timely support at the earliest opportunity. This role will give the successful candidate the unique opportunity of being part of the service development and roll out across the County.

As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will have your own case load of parents/carers and will provide safety planning and intervention directly to parents/carers who have mental health issues. This hands on, collaborative role will involve consultations with parents and carers, as well as regularly working with other practitioners and social work colleagues to effectively deliver evidence-based mental health programmes. There will be liaison with Adult Mental Health Services and a multidisciplinary approach to working.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of issues related to adult mental health and effective interventions. The successful candidate will be reliable, approachable and be able to quickly build relationships with families during this stressful time in their lives. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, and will require you to confidently liaise with a variety of colleagues, including social workers to contribute to their assessments.
