About the role:
The Development Engineer role at JCB Attachments is a hands-on, technically challenging position focused on testing and validating innovative products across a diverse range of machinery. You’ll take ownership of Design Verification Plans, operate various machines and tools, and conduct rigorous testing activities including structural assessments, hydraulic system development, and environmental simulations. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, practical experience with heavy equipment and instrumentation, and the ability to communicate complex engineering findings clearly. It’s ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys turning technical insights into real-world product improvements.
What does this role involve day to day?
Ownership of Design Verification Plans tailored to project complexity and risk
Operation of a wide range of machines and tools to validate product performance
Conducting general testing and development activities including test rig creation, NVH assessments, climate chamber tests, stability and structural testing, hydraulic system development, and data capture using Hydrotechnik equipment
Issuing detailed test and development reports to document findings and support legislative compliance
Performing risk assessments, HAZOPs, and providing training/supervision to ensure safe task execution
Regular communication with stakeholders through project reviews and presentations

You are a motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make objective decisions
You have hands-on experience operating heavy equipment and using a variety of tools and instrumentation
You possess excellent communication skills and can clearly explain complex engineering issues to diverse audiences
You enjoy practical, real-world engineering challenges and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
You are confident working independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
