About the role:

The Design Engineer role at JCB Attachments offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of innovative products across a diverse range of attachments and light equipment. You’ll take ownership of projects from concept through to launch, designing robust fabricated structures and collaborating with suppliers to integrate hydraulic and electrical systems. This hands-on role is ideal for someone passionate about engineering, eager to see their designs come to life, and ready to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet both JCB standards and global legislative requirements.

What does this role involve day to day?


  • Engineering ownership of small to medium-sized projects, from product brief through to launch
  • Design and development of fabricated structures, with a focus on material selection, manufacturing processes, and FEA understanding
  • Collaboration with suppliers to develop hydraulic and electrical systems that are efficient, robust, and cost-effective
  • Ensuring all designs meet JCB standards and comply with legislative requirements
  • Regular communication with stakeholders, including project reviews and presentations

  • You have relevant industry experience or product knowledge in off-highway machinery or light equipment
  • You enjoy practical, hands-on engineering work alongside design responsibilities
