The objectives of the role are to perform payment, investigation and reconciliation operational functions on behalf of the Guernsey part of the business Core responsibilities:
  • SWIFT payment processing – checking and releasing SWIFT payments in accordance with payment formatting principles. Prioritizing multi-currency payment processing in accordance with market deadlines.
  • SWIFT investigations – handling some payment investigations work via SWIFT, and general payment enquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Reconciliations – performing reconciliation of external agent statements with internal records to track, monitor, investigate and resolve cash exceptions in multiple currencies.
  • Proactively manage self-development and the development of others, and communicate effectively as part of a global team.
  • Projects – ability to perform some ad-hoc project work to deliver change within payment operations.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Demonstrates strong experience with SWIFT payments, formatting and investigations, including in relation to the new ISO20022 SWIFT standards.
  • Ability to carry out complex transactional activity with significant financial, client and / or internal business impact.
  • Ability to work independently on complex payment and reconciliation queries, and serve as a key subject matter expert to more junior employees and internal stakeholders from other business areas.
  • Ability to adapt well to change – e.g. new systems, procedures and market requirements.
  • Ability to work with excellent attention to detail in a sensitive and pressurized environment.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
Experience
  • Extensive experience with SWIFT payments.
  • Experience working as part of a global team to deliver objectives quickly and efficiently.
